QUEEN
OF HEAVEN
ALL
THE BIBLICAL REFERENCES
to THE "Queen of Heaven" are found in the book of Jeremiah. The
first is as follows:- "The children gather wood, and the fathers
kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes
to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other
gods, that they may provoke me to anger." (Jeremiah 7:18) It
is therefore clear that this practice angered the God of heaven,
when in the time of Jeremiah, many in Israel were making cakes to
this false goddess. The other references are all in Jeremiah chapter
44 and relate to the same idolatrous practice which evoked the wrath
of God.
TOTAL
LACK OF EVIDENCE:
There
is not one line or one letter in all the Bible, to suggest that
Mary (the mother of the Lord Jesus) should be worshipped…..that
she is "the refuge of sinners"…..that she is "immaculate"…..that
she made atonement for sin when standing by the cross, or that after
her death, she was raised again and carried in glory to heaven.
But there is a striking identity relationship with the afore-mentioned
"Queen of Heaven" when the ALLEGED functions of each are carefully
compared. The following list gives functions ascribed to both the
Babylonian "Queen of Heaven", by their respective devotees.
THE
BABYLONIAN QUEEN OF HEAVEN:
-
Was
conceived immaculately…was never defiled by sin…never lost her
virginity.
-
Had
a son called "the cleanser from sin" and the "unpolluted god".
-
Crushed
the head of the serpent as it bruised her heel.
-
Was
carried to heaven by her son after her death and resurrection.
-
Was
both co-redeemer and judge who stood by her son as he judged
the dead.
-
Both
he and she were endowed with the keys to open the portals of
heaven.
-
Had
blue eyes and golden hair just like the madonna images we see
today.
-
Had
a sun-disk or sun rays around her head, with the moon under
her feet.
"MARY
QUEEN OF HEAVEN":
All
of the above-mentioned characteristics can be identified with Mary,
"Queen of Heaven". They were also identifiable in ancient history
with Athor of Egypt, Hestor of Greece, Vesta of Rome, and finally,
Juno of Italy. The early Italians made a statue of Juno with a golden
dove on her head that represented the indwelling of the spirit of
God within Juno, who was alleged to have assimilated all the characteristics
of divinity. It is not difficult therefore, to identify the source
of these same characteristics given to "Mary", Queen of Heaven."
So history sadly shows that, instead of "christianity’ conquering
paganism, it became adorned by the very traditions against which
true christianity had always protested.
(Extracted
from "The Two Babylons" by Alexander Hislop, pages 74-90 (all
of which applies to both madonnas)
THE
ASSIMILATION OF PAGANISM:
The
ground for this assimilation had already been prepared in advance.
The Roman historian Tacitus testifies that this pagan goddess was
already known as far north as Germany and as far west as the Druids
of the British Isles. She is depicted graphically in the Revelation
12:1, which describes a woman clothed with the sun and the moon
under her feet, decked with twelve stars, and labouring to bring
forth a son. No better description could have been used to describe
the false mother church that was adopting the very form of false
worship it was sent to change. This adoption of "The Queen of Heaven"
into nominal christianity, matured upon the deliverance of the persecuted
Christians by Constantine the Great, in the early fourth century
AD. He saw great political advantage in making christianity the
official religion of Rome. So their ‘mighty deliverer’ was begotten
by the needs of the church itself. Constantine though, swung like
a pendulum between Christ and Jupiter. With such an example by their
deliverer, it is no wonder the church at large introduced pagan
practices into its rites. A trading of truth for peace and freedom
of worship followed in his wake.
MARY
THE GODDESS OF THE ITALIANS:
Is
it any wonder then, that in the centre of the country where Mary
was first promoted as the ‘Queen of Heaven’, that she is worshipped
as a goddess. The front facade of a church in Lisbon, proudly displayed
this engraving. "To the virgin goddess of Loretto….the
Italian race, devoted to her divinity, have dedicated this temple."
Priests and popery cannot deny they have deified her when such
extravagant language is permitted by both their heirarchy and laity.
Thus Mary follows the pattern of Juno of Hieropolis in Syria, who
was adorned with a dove, symbolising all the powers of divinity.
Such deification is a relic of the ancient Babylonian rites endorsed
by ancient Egypt when the Israelites were severely scolded by Jeremiah
the prophet of God, for offering cakes to the ’Queen of Heaven’.
(Jeremiah 7:18)
THE
EGYPTIAN "QUEEN OF HEAVEN":
Jeremiah
continues in Chapter 44:25-27, "Thus saith the Lord of Hosts,
the God of Israel, saying: Ye and your wives have both spoken with
your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely
perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen
of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will
surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows. (v.26)
Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in
the land of Egypt; (v.27) Behold, I will watch over them for evil,
and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the
land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine,
until there be an end of them."
A
WARNING FOR ALL FALSE WORSHIPPERS:
God
will also disown all the advocates of false worship, including
that of " Mary, the Queen of Heaven", for she cannot claim any supporting
evidence in the whole of the Bible. God says clearly in Isaiah 42:8,
"I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give
to another, neither my praise to graven images." So
God pleads, "Come out of her (the false church) my people, that
ye be not partakers of her sins." (Revel.18:4)
