CREATION
Since
man first began to ponder on the subject of where his forebears
came from and how the earth was formed, there have been a multitude
of ideas developed on the subject. Behind all of the ideas formulated
by people who do not believe the simple record of creation the Bible
presents, is the compulsive need to prove that the Bible is wrong.
Modern
man yearns to be free of all restrictions in thinking and demands
that his ideas be listened to and given as much credence as those
presented through Moses and other writers of Scripture, who claimed
they wrote as the Spirit inspired them to write and that includes
their writings regarding the creation of the world and all things
upon it. (2 Tim.3:16).
That
modern man is not about to listen to any proof the Bible can give
us on all we need to know about creation, is very evident in most
literature you read on the subject. BUT...the Bible does contain
proof that God's word is true and can be believed, and because so
many of the prophecies that the Father gave to His Scripture writers,
came true, then we are obliged to take notice of what He tells us
about creation.
Think
for a moment on Deuteronomy 28 and 30 in which the history of the
Children of Israel is written in careful detail, AND....it has all
come true. In our days we see the positive and actual fulfillment
of Deuteronomy 30:3...."Then the Lord thy God will turn thy
captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and GATHER
THEE FROM ALL THE NATIONS WHITHER THE LORD THY GOD HATH SCATTERED
THEE." This 4,000 year old promise is being fulfilled before
our very eyes, as the Children of Israel of the 20th century are
regathered to their own land. There are many other prophecies in
the Scripture which also came true and others which will no doubt
come true. If this is the case why not believe the record of creation
which is also in the Bible.
THE
BIBLE WITNESS:
If
we are inclined then, to ponder on the Bible's record of creation,
perhaps there would no better place to start than with the words
of the Lord Jesus written in the Revelation, 60 years after His
crucifixion, words which were given to Him by the Father to give
to the Apostle John. In Rev. 4:11 the Lord Jesus says quite simply...."O
Lord......thou hast created all things and for thy pleasure they
are and were created." Many people claim that Jesus created
all things, but, as you see, He did not agree with this proposition
at all. He said the Father (Lord) created them. Mind you, this witness
is no different to that of Moses, who wrote in Genesis 2:4..."
The Lord God (Jehovah Elohim) created the earth and the heavens".
The interval of time between the two writers was about 1,600
years, yet they told the same story.
Whilst
we cannot understand just how the actual earth came into being,
once we accept that the Father created it, it does not matter at
all just HOW He created it. David King of Israel put it very simply
by saying...."The Lord (Jehovah) is a great God......The sea
is his and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land." (Ps.
95:3,5) David was a man blessed by God and described
as a man "after his (the Lord's) own heart" (1 Sam 13:14) David
was able to say regarding the creation of anything....."Thou
sendest forth the spirit (word.. Ps 33:6)...THEY ARE
CREATED." (Ps.104:30) It was no secret to David....he understood
that the Lord (Jehovah) created things by the use of His (Holy)
Spirit. In Ps 33:6 he simply recorded...."Bythe word (dabah)
of the Lord were the heavens made and all the host of them by the
breath of his mouth." Psalm 148 can well be called the "creation
Psalm" for there David ascribes all creation to the might and power
of the Father in heaven.
WAS
MAN CREATED OR DID HE 'EVOLVE'?
There
is absolutely no proof that man evolved and there never has been,
and two questions remain unanswered. 1. IF man 'evolved'
from another species, why is there no evidence that such evolution
is still taking place?. 2 IF man 'evolved' why is such evolution
not still continuing past 'man?' There is only deafening silence
attending such questions. But there is NO deafening silence from
the Bible!
THE
BIBLE SPEAKS:
It
can be reasonably asserted that the last Biblical writer was the
Lord Jesus Christ, for He instructed the Apostle John on what he
was to write. In Revelation 10:5 we read..."And the angel which
I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to
heaven, And swear by him that liveth for ever and ever, WHO CREATED
HEAVEN, AND THE THINGS THAT THEREIN ARE, AND THE EARTH AND THE THINGS
THAT THEREIN ARE, AND THE SEA..........." These are the words
the Father gave to Jesus to give to John (Rev. 1:1) and to those
who fear God, they are a far more reliable better source of truth
than the unprovable writings of the evolutionist, for God's word
continues to come true in many ways.
THE
WITNESS OF THE PROPHETS:
Isaiah
foretold many happenings which came true and, as this is the case,
why should we not listen to his thinking (inspired by the Father)
on the matter of creation.. Here are but a few of his words on the
subject:
Isaiah
42:5..."The Lord (Jehovah) he hath created the heavens and stretched
them out. He hath spread forth the earth and that which cometh out
of it. He that giveth breath unto the people upon it and spirit
to them that walk therein."
Isaiah
45:12. "Thus saith the Lord , I have made the earth and
created man upon it."
The
Prophet Malachi was the last (pre-advent) Prophet of God to Israel
and he told the same truth about creation...."Have we not all
one Father? Hath not one God created us?" (Mal 2:10)
In
Job 33:4 we read of Elihu speaking to Job....." The Spirit
of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me
life......v.6....I also am formed out of clay. In all of these
witnesses it is plain to see the Bible viewpoint......man was created
by the Father.....he certainly did not just evolve from something
else, otherwise the Lord would have told us of it.
In
Mark chapter 10 there is the record of the Pharisees trying to entrap
the Lord Jesus by asking Him questions on divorce, but the Lord
Jesus was able to withstand their probing and at the same time put
the matter of creation fairly and squarely before them. His statement,
coming as it does from the Son of God, supplies the ultimate answer
to the origin of mankind...
"From the beginning of creation.... GOD MADE THEM
MALE AND FEMALE"
