Time of the End

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN JESUS CHRIST RETURNS?

Israel will be saved and God will take control of world affairs:

“The LORD will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the sky will tremble. But the LORD will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel. Then you will know that I, the LORD your God, dwell in Zion, my holy hill. Jerusalem will be holy; never again will foreigners invade her.” (Joel 3v16-17)

Some will accept Jesus Christ as king (Isaiah 2v19-20; Jeremiah 16v19). Others will reject him and make war with him (Revelation 11v18-19; 17v14; 19v19).

Tragically, many church leaders today preach that an “Antichrist” will soon stand up in Israel and make himself known to the Jews. This is a teaching formulated 400 ago by the Church of Rome to divert attention away from prophecies which clearly implicated the established Church system as being the real Biblical “antichrist” . This teaching fails to recognise that the Biblical teaching about “antichrist” concerns a false “Christian” church system that changed the truth of God into a lie (2 Thess 2v1-11; 1 John 2v18,22; 2 John v7). One popular belief is that this (imagined) individual will overthrow the armies that invade Israel, claim he is Messiah, conduct miracles, enthrone himself in Jerusalem, institute the rebuilding of the temple and form a covenant with the Jews. But this will be a tragic case of mistaken identity! This will not be “antichrist” - this will be Jesus Christ! Many so called ‘Christian’ nations and pious religious leaders will actually find themselves in conflict with the true Messiah. It happened the first time. The religious rulers rejected him. And it will happen again.

This is not a fantasy. Consider the amazing testimony of popular church writers today who believe this false antichrist theory. Hal Lindsey’s book, The Late Great Planet Earth has sold over 10,000,000 copies and is widely accepted amongst many ‘Christian’ religions today. This is amazing stuff:

“The way in which this dictator is going to step onto the stage of history will be dramatic. Overnight he will become the byword of the world. He is going to be distinguished as supernatural…” (Hal Lindsey, The Late Great Planet Earth)

“Bible students conclude that antichrist will be a Jew. It is hard to believe that Israel would receive a Gentile Messiah. No Gentile could pose as Christ with any success.” (John Benson, Will the real antichrist please stand up?)

“The antichrist will actually pose as the Messiah, he will claim Messianic titles and privileges… The antichrist is a person who will attempt to convince Israel that he is their long-anticipated Messiah.” (John Benson, Will the real antichrist please stand up?)

“Satan himself is going to give him fantastic power. He is going to be able to work all kinds of miracles. This is one reason that Christians should not get too excited when they see a miracle. It may not be a miracle from God. Satan is a miracle worker…” (Hal Lindsey, The Late Great Planet Earth)

Is it therefore possible that many ‘Christian’ nations will actually reject Jesus Christ when he comes? Could they possibly fail to recognise him? Just consider the Scriptural prediction of what will happen when Christ comes:

“These (nations) have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” (Revelation 17v14)

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.” (Psalm 2v1-6)

Psalm 2v1 says that the nations imagine “a vain thing”. This means they imagine something that has no substance. Their imagined theory of “Antichrist” has no substance! It is a delusion - a lie! (2 Thess 2v11) Just like the Jewish religious leaders 2000 years ago, their failure to accept the plain Scriptural evidence will lead them to reject Christ.

Opposition to Christ will have to be eliminated (Psalm 2v6-12; Revelation 14v8; 19v20). The world will be given an opportunity to repent and worship Jesus Christ (Revelation 14v6-7).

Those who choose to respond to Christ will be spared (Psalm 2v10-12) The poor and needy of the world and those who are suffering will be set free from their oppression (Psalm 72v13; Isaiah 11v4). No longer will there be such an extravagant divide between rich and poor. No longer any racism or deluded religious extremism. No more war or terrorism. No longer will oppressive governments terrorise their citizens. This NEW WORLD ORDER will be unprecedented in its popularity and success.
