ARMAGEDDON
WILL BE IN JERUSALEM
The
Bible abounds with evidence showing that the main controversy at the time
of Armageddon is the city of Jerusalem. It will be a religious war. Look
at how the Old Testament prophets focus on Jerusalem:
“I
will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle…”
(Zechariah 14v2)
“I
will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley
of Jehoshaphat (ie. God’s judgement) … The LORD also shall
roar out of Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem…”
(Joel 3v2,16)
“For
it is the day of the LORD’s vengeance, and the year of recompenses
for the controversy of Zion” (Isaiah 34v8)
“Many
nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and
let our eye look upon Zion.” (Micah 4v12)
“…the
LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.”
(Isaiah 31v9)
Read
for yourself Zechariah 12,13 & 14. In chapter 14
we have a more detailed explanation of how the events of chapters 12
& 13 come about. The city of Jerusalem is mentioned over 20
times in these 3 chapters. The message is clear:
God
says, "I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding
peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that
day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will
make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try and
move it will injure themselves” (Zechariah 12v2-3)
"I
will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it.... half
of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not
be taken from the city." (Zechariah 14v1-2)
God
will then intervene in world affairs:
“Then
the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in
the day of battle.” (Zechariah 14v3)
What
will the result of this World War be?
“The
LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one
LORD, and his name the only name” (Zechariah 14v9)
“Then
the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will
go up year after year to worship the King, The LORD Almighty…”
(Zechariah 14v16)
