Key
Doctrines
1.
The Bible
God's inspired Word - containing doctrinal unity, infallible prophecies,
source of divine morality, an accurate history of creation, Israel
and world empires.
2.
The Lord God
Creator, the Father, giver and sustainer of life, immortal,
invisible, all powerful, all knowing, all seeing. God has boundless
wisdom, righteousness and love.
3.
Jesus Christ
the only begotten son, shows / manifests the character of God
(eg. mercy, love, truth, patience) Completely obeyed God and overcame
sin in the flesh, presenting himself without blemish to God and
is appointed by God to be our mediator and Judge.
4.
The Angels
Spirit beings, God's messengers, ministers / servants who perform
His will. Immortal, powerful, cannot sin, can change from being
invisible to being visible, and vice versa.
5.
The Holy Spirit
God's separate power used for the spread of the Gospel (the
Good News of the things concerning the Kingdom of God and the Name
of Jesus Christ), and the establishment of the ecclesias (churches)
in the Apostles' time. God's Word was written by men who were carried
along by the Holy Spirit. The Word of Truth was also confirmed by
miracles and signs, which were by God's power.
6.
The Earth
Created by God to be inhabited, not to be destroyed. When Christ
returns the earth will be rejuvenated and bring forth abundantly
to be a source of food and beauty.
7.
The Promises
God's plan with mankind centre around the promises made to Abraham,
who was chosen for his faithfulness and Godly fear (respect). The
promises include a land, a seed (Christ) as ruler, a blessed people
/ descendents - comprising an everlasting Kingdom of peace by righteousness.
8.
Man
Mortal beings who are born, age and then die, returning to dust.
Man's only hope is resurrection to life, this is through baptism
into Christ's name, belief in the things of the Gospel and a life
patterned after Christ's (obedience).
9.
The devil
Sin personified, human nature - what we choose to do naturally (instinctively),
categorised as the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the
pride of life.
10.
Satan
An advessary, anyone who opposes someone else.
11.
The Atonement
The process of being reconciled to God, this is through representation
by Christ our mediator, who will justify those people who have lived
a Christ-like life of obedience and Godly fear (respect). We are
not under any condemnation if we are found to be stedfast in our
beliefs, words and actions. Christ's sacrifice is a complete covering
for (the sins of) those disciples found acceptable.
12.
Baptism
Complete immersion in water for the remission of sins, symbolising
the death of the old man (old way of life), and the birth of the
new man (resurrection in type). By baptism a believer is joined
to the body of Christ and has the hope of being part of God's immortal
family to continue in praise, thanks and service to our Creator
in His Kingdom.
13.
The New Life
A new way of life of striving to reflect God's glory (even as Christ
did). Comprised of denial of fleshly lusts and pride, studing God's
Word and following after His commandments. Putting God's will first,
no matter what the circumstances or resulting consequences. The
daily objective is to do good, and present ourselves acceptable
to God according to His requirements and standard.
14.
Christ is to return
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is to return to this earth. He will
judge the resurrected (and the alive) believers, separating the
acceptable from the unworthy. Christ will then move Northwards to
counter the warring nations of the world at Megiddo (Armageddon),
and rescue the remnant of Jews. Christ will take over the control
of world government and rule from the new world capital - Jerusalem
(Mount Zion).
15.
The Resurrection and Judgement
Believers and those who have lived by the correct faith (eg. Abraham,
Moses) will be raised up from the dust of the earth. They will appear
before Christ to be judged according to their way of life. Those
who made their paths straight and have done good, conforming themselves
to God's will and purpose will be immortalised (given eternal life).
But those who have lived in pretense, appearing to be followers
but in reality have sought after the cares and pleasures of this
life, and so denied Christ either in their heart or publicly, will
be led away to die, never to exist again.
16.
Zion
The soon-to-be new world capital, Jerusalem, the mountain of the
Lord exalted above the surrounding land. Out from Zion will go the
law and each year the nations will go up to worship the Lord, and
keep the feast of tabernacles.
17.
The Kingdom
God's Kingdom is to be on the earth. Jesus the Christ will rule
for a thousand years and then deliver up the Kingdom to God. God
shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no
more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any
more pain: for the former things are passed away.
