At the head of the noisy [streets] she cries out; At the entrance
of the gates in the city, she utters her sayings: |

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto
you, I will make known my words unto you. |

my hand, and no man regarded; |

Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched
out my hand and no one has heeded, |
24
"Because I called, and you refused; I stretched out my
hand, and no one paid attention; |
| 25
But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of
my reproof: |
25
and you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my
reproof, |
25
And you neglected all my counsel, And did not want my reproof; |
| 26
I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear
cometh; |

as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. |
27

seek me early, but they shall not find me: |

seek me diligently but will not find me. |
28

therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way and be sated
with their own devices. |
31
"So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way, And be
satiated with their own devices. |
| 32
For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the
prosperity of fools shall destroy them. |
32
For the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacence
of fools destroys them; |
32

the complacency of fools shall destroy them. |
