| God's
Inspired Word
Numbers
15v22-23 And if ye have erred, and not observed all these
commandments, which the LORD hath spoken unto Moses,
Even all that the LORD hath commanded you by the hand of Moses,
from the day that the LORD commanded Moses, and henceforward
among your generations;
Numbers
23v26 But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not
I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?
Numbers
24v13 If Balak would give me his house full of silver
and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD,
to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD
saith, that will I speak?
2
Samuel 7v5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the
LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?
Isaiah
18v4 For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest,
and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat
upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
Jeremiah
2v1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Jeremiah
20v9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor
speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart
as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with
forbearing, and I could not stay.
Joel
1v1 The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of
Pethuel.
Acts
1v16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have
been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David
spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that
took Jesus.
Acts
28v25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they
departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake
the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
2
Timothy 3v16 All scripture is given by inspiration of
God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness:
Hebrews
1v1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake
in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
1
Peter 1v10-12 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired
and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that
should come unto you:
Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ
which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand
the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto
us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto
you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the
Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels
desire to look into.
2
Peter 3v15-16 And account that the longsuffering of our
Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according
to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things;
in which are some things hard to be understood, which they
that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the
other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
The
power of God's Word
John
6v63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth
nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit,
and they are life.
Acts
20v32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to
the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and
to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
1
Corinthians 1v18 For the preaching of the cross is to
them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved
it is the power of God.
1
Corinthians 2v4 And my speech and my preaching was not
with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration
of the Spirit and of power:
1
Thessalonians 2v13 For this cause also thank we God without
ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye
heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as
it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh
also in you that believe.
2
Timothy 3v16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration
of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto
all good works.
Hebrews
1v3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express
image of his person, and upholding all things by the word
of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat
down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
Hebrews
4v2,12 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as
unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not
being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than
any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder
of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Tests
for False Prophets
Deuteronomy
13v1-5 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer
of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake
unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou
hast not known, and let us serve them;
Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or
that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you,
to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart
and with all your soul.
Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep
his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him,
and cleave unto him.
And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put
to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the
LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt,
and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee
out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk
in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
Deuteronomy
18v21-22 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we
know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing
follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the
LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously:
thou shalt not be afraid of him.
Jeremiah
28v9 The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the
word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet
be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him.
Acts
17v11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica,
in that they received the word with all readiness of mind,
and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were
so.
1
Thessalonians 5v21 Prove all things; hold fast that which
is good.
1
John 4v1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the
spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets
are gone out into the world.
Revelation
2v2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience,
and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou
hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not,
and hast found them liars:
