Genesis
is the first book of the Bible and also the first book of
Moses. It contains the account of the creation of the world
and of man, the flood, the lives of the fathers of the Jewish
race and the beginnings of the nation of Israel in Egypt.
"This is the written account of Adam's line. When God
created man, He made him in the likeness of God. He created
them male and female and blessed them. And when they were
created, He called them 'man [Adam].'" (Genesis 5:1-2).
