Jesus
Christ will return from heaven, and visibly appear and take
up his residence on earth a second time, for the purpose of
bringing about the accomplishment of all these things. The
second coming of Christ is therefore the true hope of the
believer.
This
same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall
so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
(Acts 1:9-11).
Jesus
Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing
and his kingdom; (2 Timothy 4:1).
For
the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with
his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to
his works. (Matthew 16:27).
When
the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory...
To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in
Jerusalem; (Psalm 102:16,21).
And
he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto
you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution
of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his
holy prophets since the world began. (Acts 3:20-21).
Unto
them that look for him shall he appear the second time without
sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:28).
For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise first: (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
Wherefore
gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the
end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation
of Jesus Christ; (1 Peter 1:13).
For
our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for
the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: (Philippians 3:20).
So
that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of
our Lord Jesus Christ: (1 Corinthians 1:7).
That
when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed
before him at his coming. (1 John 2:28).
