Technical Help

Note 1
The CMD series and CAD 1 & 2 only work with a computer - they won't work in a Hi-Fi cd player.
CAD 3 onwards do work in Hi-Fi sets with mp3 enabled cd players or mp3 enabled DVD players.

Note 2
The CMD discs used are 700mb. They might not work in older machines, and pc's with old cd-rom drives might skip. Skipping can be remedied by updating cd-rom drivers.
CAD 3 onwards are limited to 640mb to ensure they are compatible with as many devices as possible.

Note 3
Some of the talks may have poor quality at the beginning. This is due to the quality of old tapes - a few dating back to the 70's. HOWEVER most of the recordings are free from this and the from CAD 3 onwards the audio quality is very good.

Note 4
System crashes can occur if you run winamp with your browser still active. This normally occurs with pc's with small memories (RAM). This should never happen with pc's with 128Mb or more. If you experience problems with Winamp try using Windows Media Player instead.

Note 5
For perfect audio playing, copy the mp3 files to your hard drive. This should cure most problems. Talks are usually stored in the 'talks' directory on each cd.

Note 6
Most Apple Macs can only read 640mb discs so these cd's won't work in a Mac unless you use a Juliet cd-rom drive.

Note 7
Preferably use Windows Media Player or Winamp rather than RealPlayer, except if you have the new RealOne player which is pretty good.

If you experience any problems, please contact me.

How to listen to the audio files

• Click on a talk title or hymn
•• A window will pop-up asking you a question
• Choose 'Open this file from its current location'
•• Your default audio player will open the file and play it for you.

For trouble free listening
Copy a few of the talk files from the 'talks' directory on the cd to your hard drive and play them from there. This will result in smooth playback with no interruptions which can occur if played from a cd rom.

Which audio player to use
The default player is 'Windows Media Player', however I've included Winamp on the discs as it has a graphic equaliser which allows control of the treble and bass. If there is a low hiss this may be reduced by turning up the treble or by experimenting with the EQ settings.
How the Bible Truth disc works . . .

The Bible Truth cd uses HTM files which are viewed using an internet browser. The user doesn't have to be connected to the internet nor have an internet subscription. Only the Internet Browser software is necessary. The Software needed for viewing the PDF and ZIP files is included with the disc.

Quick and easy viewing . . .

Most of the cd's contents is stored in a compressed file, which can be copied from the disc onto your hard drive and extracted. The contents can thus be viewed from your hard drive resulting in quicker browsing. Access the file from the 'CD Help Page'.

Printing the cd cover and label . . .

The cover is stored under the 'Cover_and_Label' directory. The 2 JPG files are set to 300 dpi and can be inserted into MS Word, Corel Draw, etc. and then printed.
Kodak double sided Printing Paper is highly recommended.

Packaging

The cover provided is one you have to cut out, fold, stick and press. It may be a fiddle and a lot of work.
Solution 1 - Organise some young people to help you.
Solution 2 - Send the cover to the printers and have them print, cut and paste it.
Solution 3 - Download the hastle-free cover and use that instead. This one slides into the front of the original plastic cd boxes. Note this will add to the weight of postage considerably, but is ideal for local orders that don't need shipping.
Solution 4 - Don't worry about using a cover - just scribble Bible Truth on the cd and include in a plain white cardboard sleeve. Serves the same purpose and saves time and money.

Duplicating the cd

For speedy duplication, copy all the files and directories on the disc to a directory on your hard disk. Then select all the files in the directory (not the directory), and paste them into the root directory of a fomatted blank cd.
If you always have 570mb of free space available on your hard disk this is the best solution for duplication.

Free Distribution

The cd is free for non-members.

Pricing

The price for members is set by your local distributor. This should cover costs and contribute to further distribution.
