Introduction of Sin

Genesis 3v1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
3v2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3v3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
3v4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
3v5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
3v6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
3v7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Romans 5v12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
5v19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

God's View of Sin

Romans 8v6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
8v7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8v8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

1 John 3v4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1 John 5v17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

Source of Sin

Matthew 15v18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
15v19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

James 1v14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Avoid Sinning

Genesis 4v7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Romans 6v1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
6v2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Unintentional Sin

15v27 And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.
15v28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.
15v29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.
